Those of you who have followed this site over the years know that I have a fondness for imaging Mars (fyi, this site has been here since 2010, but most everything before 2022 is offline due to a server crash a few years ago). It was good to get my first view of the red planet for this new apparition, after a few frustrating months of clouds.
Seeing was fair, but Mars is sitting at 72 degrees at culmination, so the views should be good despite its great distance during this aphelic opposition (only reaching 14.5″).
